Q: I have this project I've been working on where I have to drill 1" deep 1/4" holes in concrete for plastic anchors. I'm using spade tipped masonry bits designed for concrete, in a hammer drill but the points are burning off. whats the deal?
A: The concrete is especially hard or the bits you are using are more designed for masonry instead of concrete. There are harder bits made specifically for concrete at commercial supply houses that sell metal track and drywall.
