Q: My bathroom was renovated about 2 years ago and it was completely remodeled. New tub, sink, cabinets, floor and toilet. But for about a year and a half now, the cahin inside the toilet (the one that controls the flap thing to let the water out) keeps falling of the little bar that you hook it up to. So sometimes after someone uses the bathroom when they go to flush it will just make a clanking sound and not flush! I have put the chain back numerous times and tried the different holes on the little bar but it will do it again and again depending on how many people use the bathroom that day. I even tried pliers! Can anyone tell me a better solution! The toilet is brand new!!!! How long will the plastic coated wire from the bread last though?
A: Take a short piece of wire (a twist tie will do) and thread it through one of the holes on the arm. Insert the hook from the chain into the same hole, then twist the wire around it a couple of times to keep it attached. Works like a charm!
